Here’s another recommendation with Jesse, the annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in Mount Vernon. A warm winter means the tulips will bloom a bit early for the second straight year. The festival runs from April 1 through April 30 depending on weather condition. It is a destination event for the Pacific Northwest. Every spring thousands of people tour and visit the tulip fields in bloom. It is a short drive from Seattle and Vancouver, BC.
The fields are throughout the Skagit Valley with many local events and activities celebrating the festival. Walking through the fields or biking makes a perfect day trip with friends and families. Roozen Gaarde and Tulip Town with displays in gardens for visitors to view and photograph. Spend the afternoon with lunch at Tulip Town and see the wonderful indoor display, art gallery and multi-colored fields. The fields planted here have alternating colors about every ten rows.
The festival is now 32 years and welcomes people across the United States and from around the world. This is truly a place to visit for all ages and families. Expect traffic on weekends and long lines to the fields. Biking is another solution and easy way to view the area. More http://www.tulipfestival.org/
Enjoy the colorful blooms and remember to take your camera to share your experience.
