National Park Discover Pass, Jesse Tam. There’s a few days remaining to obtain the Discover Pass for Seniors before the price increase. There are 417 national parks in the US and if you’re 62 or older, $10 will get you into all of them for the rest of your life. Senior pass is a great way to see the national parks and save on entrance fees prior to rate increase from $10 to $80 starting August 28. Congress approved the National Park Service Centennial Act in December 2016, which raises fees and sets up an endowment to help pay for projects and visitor services. The senior pass requires US permanent residents or citizen. Great time to begin the journey and to explore the outdoors and trails in our region.

Seafair Parade is here, Jesse Tam. It’s the summer time gathering for the Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade on July 29 starting at 7:30 pm. View the marching bands, floats, balloons, clowns and dance in celebration of Seattle The event is free and great for families of all age groups. Reserve seating is also available for purchase.
The parade will start from the Seattle Center along Mercer Street. Come early and join the FanFest and explore the exhibit booths, food vendors and the Blue Angels balloon. Slip Away to the Pacific Northwest by Jesse Tam. Summer is a terrific time to slip away and discover the Pacific northwest with a scenic drive from Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. Take the coastal route along US 101 which is more relaxing and enjoy the Sea Lion Caves, Lighthouses, Seaside and more. Interstate 5 (I-5) is and easy drive if you are have only a few days to discover the city highlights.
A favorite place to relax and enjoy the Seattle summer outdoors is at Lake Union with the boats, dinning, festivals and just view of the city. Walk along the dock and see various types of boats at the moorage slips or bring your boat and park at one of the docks and dine in one of the fine restaurants for a fantastic fresh seafood catch or simple happy hour.
The beautiful waters of South Lake Union with Seattle Space Needle and city view towards downtown. There will be plenty of cranes in the skyline with construction and growth in the region.

Here’s another event held at the Seattle Center for friends and families of all ages, Jesse Tam. Come join the activities to celebrate the Cherry Blossom & Japanese Cultural Festivities from April 21 – 23rd. Explore and experience the cultural roots and contemporary influences of Japan through live performances, visual arts, hands-on activities, foods and games including Taiko drumming and artisan demonstrations.
The Festival was founded 40 years ago in appreciation of 1,000 cherry trees gifted to Seattle by Prime Minister Takeo Miki on behalf of the Japanese government in commemoration of the nation’s bicentennial. It is the first ethnic festival to be held at Seattle Center annually and the oldest in the Seattle Center Festál series.

Visiting the Shwedagon Pagoda Jesse Tam, from the peaceful sky to busy Seattle Tacoma International across the pacific ocean to Myanmar. This is the largest pagoda temple in Yangon. Buddhism came from India to Myanmar 2600 years ago.
The Shwedagon Pagoda, officially named Shwedagon Zedi Daw and also known as the Great Dagon Pagoda and the Golden Pagoda.
The most famous and spectacular sight in Yangon, over 300ft tall and covered in fold, jewels and precious stones. It it one of the most important sites in the Buddhist faith. Non Burmese are not allowed inside the pagoda, there is a lot to see around it. You could spend hours viewing and walking around the outside of the complex.
The weather is hot with crowds and lines during the weekend, so wear a hat when you plan your visit. As a mark of reverence, visitors should dress appropriately and modestly. The dress code – wear trousers or at least knee-length shorts or skirt; t-shirts with elbow length sleeves are also expected and you are expected to be barefooted when entering Shwedagon Pagoda.
